SPONSORSHIP POSSIBILITIES
Dear Friend,
Mosaic Productions is a non-profit DreamMaker Program of The Ink People Center for the Arts whose mission is to promote Middle Eastern music, dance, and nurture cross-cultural awareness through events produced for our local community. Our largest annual event is the Redwood Coast Bellydance Festival, which has drawn hundreds of participants to Arcata from across the country since 2005, including workshops and performances with talented, internationally acclaimed guest artists. We look forward to more successful productions in 2008 and beyond.
Our 2008 production season begins with an incredible concert of Arabic music and dance with the renowned Georges Lammam Ensemble of San Francisco at the Arkley Center Theatre on February 9.
We are so excited to be offering this high-caliber performance at such a lovely venue for our community.
Born in Beirut, of Palestinian descent, Georges Lammam is well-known in the Middle East and the US as a solo violinist, exemplifying the Arab style of instrumental improvisation and lyricism. His ensemble also features amazing musicians on oud, bass, accordion guitar, and percussion.
This concert will feature traditional and contemporary musical selections from across the Middle East including work from Georges Lammam’s most recent recording, Dreaming the Diaspora. Blending artful Eastern improvisation with Western harmonic and melodic styling, this original music will sing to people of all cultures – songs for love, songs for dance and songs to heal. There will also be dance performances by award winning soloists Shoshanna and Andalee, and by the Ya Habibi Dance Company.
Your support now will help ensure that we are able to offer this and other cultural arts
presentations to our local community, and allow us to do even more.
We hope, for example, to be able to offer presentations in local schools or seminars and lectures
with visiting artists that are free to the public. We hope to have reduced-price or complimentary tickets available to groups that might not otherwise be able to attend our events.
Your donation can help make these goals a reality!
We realize that there are so many important organizations for you to consider. We hope you will attend this amazing concert and consider being one of our valued sponsors. We are living in an era in which developing positive cross-cultural connections is so important, and we feel that experiencing music, dance, food and other cultural arts are a wonderful way to do so.
Thank you for your time and generosity! Shoshanna, Director, Mosaic Productions
